Orthopaedic Surgery/Arthroscopy

I'm in part time private practice in Los Angeles, California, specializing in arthroscopy, knee arthroplasty, and I also enjoy hand surgery. My fellowship was in Lansing, Michigan, with Dr. Lanny Johnson, focusing on arthroscopic surgery and articular cartilage research.

I received a BS in Biochemistry (UCLA) and a MD degree from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. My internship in General Surgery and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery was completed under Dr. Augusto Sarmiento at Los Angeles County - University of Southern California. I enjoy teaching the residents as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedics at LAC-USC Medical Center Sports Service on a part time basis and as an Associate Instructor Arthroscopy Association of North America at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago.

In addition, I have done trips to Cuba, Vietnam and Peru teaching local surgeons through Operation Arthroscopy. I'm fluent in Dutch and Iearned 5 other languages (German, French, Hebrew, Spanish, and English) I completed my primary/and high school years in North Holland.
