Dr. Nancy Yen Shipley is an orthopaedic surgeon in private practice in Portland, Oregon since 2011, and founder of Form & Function Orthopaedics, established in 2025. Her clinical focus is joint preservation, including minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder and knee and the responsible use of regenerative medicine and biologics.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Yen Shipley is known publicly as NancyMD, a content creator, speaker, and educator who translates orthopaedic and musculoskeletal health for a broad audience, with particular attention to women navigating midlife and perimenopause. She is also a dedicated advocate for equity for women in orthopaedic surgery and for women as patients, whose symptoms are too often dismissed when they do not show up on imaging.
