I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and attended the University of California, San Francisco for medical school. I completed my orthopedic residency at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2006, followed by a fellowship in hand surgery at the Hand Center of San Antonio in 2007. I am currently the assistant chief of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Kaiser Permanente in San Jose, California and am the hand surgery consultant for the NHL's San Jose Sharks.
